Prof. Alberto Carotenuto, PhD

M.Sc. in 1981 with honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Napoli Federico II; Ph.D. in 1988 in Applied Thermodynamics at the same University. From 1988 to 1992, Assistant Professor at the University of Cassino; from 1992 to 1999, Associate Professor and from 1999 to 2003, Full Professor of Applied Thermodynamics at the same University. From 1997 to 2003, Vice-Rector for the Building and Construction office at the University of Cassino. He currently holds the position of Full Professor of Applied Thermodynamics at the University of Napoli “Parthenope”, where he has also been Dean of the Faculty of Engineering since 2005. His scientific interests mainly focus on the analysis of heat and mass transfer in porous media, the properties and measurements of natural gas, thermodynamics of air and mass flow rate measurements, heating, refrigerating and air conditioning plant and equipment. His achievements in research are reported in about a hundred research papers, published in some most relevant journals in his field. Prof. Carotenuto is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Association of Chartered Engineers in Naples. He is also member of American Association of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
