Prof. Laura Vanoli, PhD

Laura Vanoli obtained her five years master degree with honours in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cassino. In 1998, from July to October she joined a research group (Project CMS of CERN, Geneve) at the Fermilab of Chicago, under a grant of the University of Cassino. In 1999 she gained her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the same University. From November 1999 to October 2003 she was assistant professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Cassino. From November 2003 to January 2005 she worked as assistant professor at the Department of Food Science of the University of Naples Federico II. In October 2003 she won the competitive exam to become associate professor of Thermal Sciences. September 2004, visiting researcher at the Energy Management Institute of Virginia Polytechic Institute and State University (USA). From January 2005 to October 2008 has been working as associate professor at the Department of Food Science of the University of Naples Federico II. Since November 2008 she is associate professor at Dipartimento per le Tecnologie of University of Naples Parthenope. Her research interests cover: thermodynamic and thermo-economic analysis of advanced energy systems, energy saving, renewable energy sources,thermo-fluid-dynamic measurement, heat and mass transfer through porous media. She served as referee for the International Journal of Thermodynamics,Journal of Fuel Cell Science and Technology, Waste Management, Energy and Buildings, Journal of Thermodynamics, Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science.Reviewer for several international conferences: ESDA 2006, IMECE 2005 2006, ECOS 2007, 2010. She served as reviewer of project proposals for VI and VII European Program reviewer and she is evaluator and monitoring expert of Research Projects funded by the Italian Ministry for Industry (MSE, “RSE” program).
